WHAT DOES LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE SEAMS MEAN?
If a seam on your garment tears, we’ll repair it or provide you with a new garment.
Blåkläder is the only company offering a lifetime guarantee on seams. Our professional staff and modern machinery make this guarantee possible. If a seam breaks, we’ll repair it or replace the garment, provided it hasn’t been torn or damaged by sharp edges or tools.
A garment’s lifespan is considered complete when holes develop in the fabric or when it has generally served its function as a work garment. Contact the store where you purchased your products for warranty claims.
HOW DO I REPAIR FREELOCK ON BLÅKLÄDER SHOES?
If the Freelock system on your Blåkläder safety shoes needs repair, you can find both written guides and video tutorials on how to repair the Freelock yourself here. Don’t have everything you need? You can find repair kits for your safety shoes here.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS FOR RAINY CONDITIONS?
When working outdoors in rainy weather, it’s crucial that your clothing protects you from getting wet and cold. That’s why we’ve created a guide on how to dress optimally before heading out in the rain.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "OPEN ARC TEST" AND "BOX TEST" REGARDING IEC 61482-2?
The main difference is that the “Box test” tests the garment against a predetermined limit, while the “Open arc test” determines how much open arc exposure the garment can withstand before causing second-degree burns. You can read more about the test methods and certification here.
HOW CAN I GET SPONSORED BY BLÅKLÄDER?

WHAT ARE THE BLÅKLÄDER DELIVERY TIMES?
If you place an order directly to us before 9:30 AM, items are shipped from our Swedish warehouse the same day, provided nothing in your order requires customization or personalization, or the product is brand new and not yet in stock.
Delivery times for customized products (such as items requiring embroidery, printing, or alterations) vary depending on the queue at the relevant department and the complexity of your requested modifications. Your delivery time will also depend on seasonal variations in shipping company workloads.
Please note that ordering through a retailer may mean a difference in delivery times, depending on how they handle orders. This is outside of our control.
WHERE CAN I FIND MY NEAREST BLÅKLÄDER STORE?
You can search for dealers near you on our “Find Store” page. To find retailers worldwide, please contact your respective country office. Contact information is available on your country’s website or through our sales representatives in Norway.
HOW DO I MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM ON A PRODUCT?
If you purchased the product from a retailer, contact the retailer where you made your purchase, the retailer is responsible for contact with us.
The retailer will return the item to Blåkläder, who will assess whether the garment should be repaired or replaced due to manufacturing defects. It’s important that defective items are returned to Blåkläder so we can investigate and correct the issue for future products.
If the product was purchased directly from Blåkläder, your company may have specific procedures for this, so check internally first. If you have access to the Blåkläder webshop, you’ll find return and warranty instructions in “My Account.”
If you are a member of staff at a company purchasing from us, please check your internal purchasing and warranty claim processes, as these might vary.
HOW DO I RETURN A PRODUCT?
If you purchased the product from a retailer, contact the retailer where you made your purchase.
If you wish to return a product purchased directly from us, contact your local Blåkläder district manager or your company’s contact person for return approval. If the return is approved, you’ll find return instructions in “My Account” in the Blåkläder webshop.
If you are a member of staff at a company purchasing from us, please check your internal purchasing and return processes, as these might vary.
HOW LONG SHOULD SAFETY SHOES LAST?
This depends on where and how often they’re used, but we recommend replacing your shoes when they’re so worn that they’re uncomfortable to walk in, in order to prevent potential foot injuries. When it’s time to replace your work shoes, consider how they’ll be used:
- Do you need a safety boot because you work somewhere debris can get into shoes or where your ankles might get caught?
- Do you work in muddy conditions where safety boots might be more appropriate?
- Or do you work in hot conditions and need safety sandals?
Choosing the right safety shoe keeps you more comfortable at work and helps your footwear last longer.
WHICH HIGH-VISIBILITY GARMENTS PROVIDE THE RIGHT VISIBILITY CLASS FOR MY EMPLOYEES?
Each visibility garment has its own classification, but it’s also possible to combine two different visibility garments to achieve a higher classification than the individual garments provide. However, such combinations must also be certified to ensure all requirements for the relevant class are met.
With Blåkläder’s co-certification program, you can combine tops and bottoms to achieve higher classifications. Garments in the co-certification program are divided into classification categories, indicated for each garment. The classification achieved for each garment combination is shown in the table below and on the label of each garment.
| TOPS | A | B | C | D | E |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TROUSERS | |||||
| V | 2 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 2 |
| W | 2 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 2 |
| X | 2 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 |
| Y | 3 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 |
| Z | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
For example, a Blåkläder top in classification category A achieves class 2 when combined with a Blåkläder bottom in category V, W, or X. The same top achieves class 3 when combined with a bottom in category Y or Z. You can filter by co-certification groups and visibility classes in the product overview and online store.
DO BLÅKLÄDER PRODUCTS HAVE OTHER BRAND NAMES (SUCH AS BLUEWEAR)?
No. Blåkläder products are only called Blåkläder and are marked with the Blåkläder logo. This applies to all countries and all products.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN A GARMENT IS "INHERENTLY" FLAME-RESISTANT?
When one of our garments is marked “inherent,” it means the flame protection is integrated into the garment’s fibers. This applies to materials such as wool, para-aramid, meta-aramid (e.g., Kevlar and Nomex), and modacrylic.
In these materials, flame protection is a natural part of the fiber material’s properties because they’re difficult to ignite and are largely self-extinguishing in environments with normal oxygen content (21% oxygen).
HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT SIZE IN BLÅKLÄDER GARMENTS?
We offer a wide range of sizes. In addition to standard sizes, we also have pants for those who need extra length or those who need shorter legs with a wider waist.
You’ll find a size guide on each product page. To find the right size, you can either reference a favorite garment you currently own that’s similar to what you’re looking for, or you can measure your body. You’ll find the size guide and measurement instructions here. Please note that you have the two options in different tabs, select the tab before comparing measurements.
If you find it difficult to measure yourself, you can visit one of our retailers where they can help you find the right size, or you can write down your measurements and contact customer service.
DO BLÅKLÄDER MAKE SAFETY SHOES FOR WOMEN?
Yes, we do! Our safety shoes are available down to size 35, and sizes 35-38 feature a narrower fit designed for smaller feet.
HOW DOES BLÅKLÄDER USE RECYCLED MATERIALS?
We continuously work to identify ways to use recycled materials in our garments without compromising quality requirements. If recycled materials negatively impact durability and lifespan, the positive aspects of recycling are lost. Instead, this could lead to increased consumption and even greater environmental impact, which would be wasteful of resources. Read more about our work with sustainability >>
HOW CAN MY COMPANY PROPERLY DISPOSE OF WORKWEAR?
Due to how workwear is produced and used, it’s difficult to recycle garments once they’re worn out. The most sustainable thing your company can do is to only order the workwear you need, in the right sizes and types, and use your workwear completely before ordering new items.
When work clothes are worn out, they’re often saturated with oils and chemicals that can be dangerous to both people and the environment. It’s usually most appropriate to incinerate the garments and recover the energy after their useful life, as incineration is the least environmentally damaging alternative. Your municipality has waste management solutions – we recommend contacting them for the correct procedure in your area. Alternatively, more information is available at Sortere.no.
